An open mouth view x-ray is a special view to visualize upper cervical spine problems especially C1 and C2 vertebrae. It is also called odontoid peg view.

Neutral or low-density oral contrast media are a prerequisite for good-quality CT enterography [3-5] because they maximise contrast between the lumen and enhancing small bowel wall, facilitating assessment of mucosal thickening and wall stratification/enhancement patterns [1-8]. Yes I was diagnosed with severe CCI & flat neck by syndrome, (trauma induced C2-C6 cascade retrolisthesis etc.) in Clearwater Florida by DMX after proper prescreening tests including this test to warrant further tests including DMX & FMRI were intentionally obstructed in Canada for over ten years . The physicians in Nova-Scotia Canada along with the RCMP etc. attempted to erase all MVA trauma history that occurred to me in a 10 YEAR period of two head-on collisions 100 percent the fault of the other drivers along with intentionally obstructing any & all tests including this excellent prescreening test for DMX & FMRI if you are involved in severe MVA collisions etc. John F.
